Statement to voters

I have lived in South Lake, Woodley for many years.

Full statement

My children and grandchildren have all attended South Lake and Bulmershe schools.

My husband, Trevor and I ran the Woodley Junior Snorkel Club and the Thames Valley Octopush Club for over 37 years until the old Bulmershe pool closed. This is why I am dedicated to improving youth facilities and I am still a member of the Wokingham Borough Sports Council.

I have served as a Woodley Town Councillor for South Lake for 29 years and represented South Lake residents as a Wokingham Borough Councillor for 18 years.

I have been Town Mayor 3 times, and I serve on both the Strategy and Resources, and Leisure Committees, in addition to the Youth Partnership and ARC.

I chair the WISE Over 50’s forum and the Highwood Management Conference (as I walk my 2 dogs around these woods, I can keep an eye on any problems).

I am also on the Town Centre Partnership. As a Trustee on the Poors Land Charity (which provide some sheltered flats for the needy), I give my time to helping administer the facilities and interviewing prospective residents when flats become available.

As you can see, I try to cover the full spectrum of interests and concerns for all our residents and if elected I will be ready to help them when needed.
