Joe has worked with businesses to protect jobs in the steel sector and generate support for decarbonisation. He understands the importance of high quality, secure and rewarding jobs for residents. That’s why he’s committed to creating, protecting and attracting jobs across the region, maximising the opportunities offered by the green transition.

If elected, Joe would be the first ever Labour MP for the constituency - and has been campaigning for 6 months already.

Hexham is where I’ve always called home. I’m immensely proud to be from here and to be a Northumbrian. But, under Guy Opperman and the Conservatives, we’ve seen our area taken for granted for decades, and we’ve seen the North East suffer under Conservative neglect.

As someone who grew up locally, going through the Sele First School, Hexham Middle and Queen Elizabeth High School, I will always have the best interests of our community at heart. I will fight for high skilled, high paying green jobs and campaign for the improvement of our local public services.
