Full statement
... Who hasn't been bused in from Oxford!
I'm a Christian, an engineer and a dad of two school age kids. I have lived in the northeast for over half my life, and in Chester-le-Street for the last eight years.
I stand behind the SDP policies of reinvigorating the manufacturing industry; boosting vocational learning pathways to fill the jobs we need; and creating a coherent and pragmatic energy strategy that can enable industry to thrive and compete internationally.
We have to refocus on creating a Britain that works for everyone. And that starts with prioritising families and local communities - upon which everything else is built.
