Statement to voters

My name is Ayesha Khan, and I am the Workers Party of Britain's MP candidate for Stockport.

Full statement

The two-party system is broken. We've endured over a decade of falling standards: a collapsing NHS, among the highest energy prices in Europe, a rise in children living in poverty, raw sewage pumped into our rivers and seas, and a cost of living crisis affecting us all.

I believe passionately in public ownership and the renationalisation of essential services like water, energy, and transport. We should not be paying private companies and their CEOs massive bonuses for what rightfully belongs to the British people. Water, energy, and rail services should be owned and managed for the public good, not for private profit.

In Parliament, I will fight for the rights of my constituents: affordable housing, high-quality state education, a working NHS, and the renationalisation of essential services. I will work tirelessly to give young people a fair chance in life by striving to completely abolish tuition fees, and investing in apprenticeships and vocational qualifications like BTECs and CTECs.

We simply cannot continue with the same parties giving us the same policies that do not put the British public first. The Workers Party is a party for the people: committed to renationalisation and keeping our education and NHS free for all British people.

The Workers Party also stands firmly against the genocide in Gaza. In Parliament, I will advocate for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the suspension of all arms export licenses to Israel. This is what over 73% of the British public want, yet is being ignored by Labour and the Tories, both of whom have refused to commit to suspending arms exports to Israel.

We need to see real change, and that means we need to vote for a new way and a new party.

We cannot vote for change if we do not change our vote.

Vote Ayesha Khan Worker's Party this 4 July.
