Statement to voters

Growing up in Wrexham made Tim aware of the impact of the huge inequalities that exist in Wales.

Full statement

Tim believes a vote for the Green Party will bring the people of Wrexham and future generations the best opportunity to achieve the greatest quality of life, both individually and collectively.

Tim says, “The next government needs critical friends who have clarity, passion, and ambition. We can applaud good things that they do… but more importantly we can challenge them to go further. I’m inspired to believe that this nation of Wales, and the collected nations of the United Kingdom, can be so much more than we currently are.”

“Is it too ambitious to want health and social care properly funded? To breath fresh air and enjoy the security that clean energy brings? To be a nation where your chances in life are not dependent on your postcode at birth? That for me is not too ambitious, that is just fundamentally fair and decent. If you agree, it’s very likely The Green Party is for you.”

Green Party politicians can be trusted and have a reputation for integrity and truthfulness and for prioritising serving people. That’s why the Green Party is growing rapidly – the number of Green Party councillors has absolutely shot up over the last decade and the party is polling much higher than at the last election.

Our support keeps growing because only the Green Party has a credible ambition to build a fairer Britain and address the scandalous levels of poverty; to tackle the climate emergency; to rebuild the NHS; to sort out public transport; and to mend the broken housing market. The time has come for a new way of doing politics, that truly involves people in decisions that impact their lives.

Becoming that critical friend of the Government, pushing them further to reduce inequalities and create a better future, can only happen with your Green votes. Every Green vote gives more volume to our call when we say to power that the people of Wrexham want real hope and real change.

About Tim: Tim grew up in Wrexham and still lives close by. He is a frequent visitor to the town as a Wrexham AFC season ticket holder. Tim says, “Wrexham gave me opportunities of sport, music, education, and friendships that have lasted a lifetime.” Tim works in Health Care, as an optometrist with his own practice in Buckley; and works directly with NHS Wales as the National Clinical Lead. He lives with his wife and two kids (and dog).
