Born and bred in the Black Country, I come from a family of hard working, talented people who share the experiences of many in this constituency.



My great grandad grew up in a workhouse, worked as a craftsman and fought with the Staffordshire regiment. A free school meal pupil, I am a first generation graduate.



I am proud of these roots. They drive my belief in the potential of our communities and businesses to prosper and thrive. But after 14 years of Conservative government, our future hangs in the balance. The Tories have wrecked the economy and driven our public services to breaking point. They have destroyed trust in politics and let people down.



I see this everyday in the work I do, in the school my children attend, in the businesses I have supported, and in the hospitals and GP surgeries I visit. I am standing because I know that Britain deserves better.



I have dedicated my career to improving frontline services, delivering changes to policing, child protection and leading campaigns for improved health and mental health care for young people and those impacted by addiction. Now it's time to use that experience to help bring about Labour's pledges to the country in Parliament. As an MP, I will work tirelessly to deliver the changes we need, working hard every day to earn the trust of my constituents.
