I’ve been Chair of Cambridgeshire County Council, a county councillor, a district councillor and Mayor of St Neots. So I have a good grasp of the issues facing this region and how many of you feel about them. I’ve worked with politicians of all parties to make things happen, and been on the right side of history on issues like the Cambridge congestion zone, the GCP, the planned busway through Coton Orchard, and protecting residents and business from the flooding that’s devastated too many homes and businesses.

I can do the same at Westminster. I will work tirelessly for you. I’ll vote with my conscience on the big national issues — with the government when they get it right, and a thorn in their side when they don’t. I’ll be judged on my words and votes, and work with people across the political spectrum to ensure our region is not trampled over in the stampede for growth in Cambridge.
