Statement to voters

My lifelong relationship with Brentford and Isleworth has shaped many levels of loyalty and kinship, more recently through community service.

Full statement

Over time, we have witnessed a degeneration in the welfare of our country due to neglect by the long-standing government. This decline trickles down to every constituency, and every community. Yet it has taken the continuing, modern-day genocide of Palestine, one of brutal proportions, and supported by the government and other parties, to unite the public in uproar, and for us to realise that we are not living under a democracy, and that the power is not vested in the people. We do not enjoy “an environment that respects human rights and fundamental freedoms, and in which the freely expressed will of the people is exercised.” Standing as an Independent, I offer an invitation to true representation in politics, with prioritised focus on the needs of the constituency. The traditional party system is dictatorial, and this should be the end of the road for corruption, hierarchical control, and disproportionate influence by external groups. I will strive to connect the remote government with the public through regular, organised citizen’s assemblies, creating community manifestos to address issues and concerns. The concerns of our community are echoed across the UK, and some are specific to Brentford and Isleworth. I will pursue efforts in the following: -Reverse the privatisation and outsourcing of the NHS, provide funding and increase the number of staff, directly recruited. -Clean streets and maintain areas of B&I that have been historically neglected. -Make more social housing available. -Support minorities, women and the elderly. -Fund schools and scrap tuition fees. -Support the youth with opportunities as well as mental health. -Police presence must increase. -End austerity and reverse the cost of living. Emergency demands to be fulfilled by the government include: End genocide and apartheid in Palestine. Defund weapons sales and unethical wars. Recognise the state of Palestine. Enforce accountability for war crime complicity. It is time to speak up, take part and make an effort to reverse the damage to our country, and your vote on Independents’ Day, July 4, will be your voice.
