Statement to voters
Power to the people. I will push to take party politics out of council decision making. The extent to which the views of residents form local policy should be a keystone measure for all councillors. We need to secure complete transparency in our local Council and ensure every resident can access recordings of all council meetings.
Reshape the Local Plan. The final agreement on the local plan has been delayed until after the election, when there will be a further public consultation. I will work cross-party to achieve a better deal for Virginia Water and neighbouring wards which are having to bear the brunt of the proposed new development. The Local Plan must favour existing residents and their families over those who are not residents.
Valuing our lovely villages, encouraging conservation of our green land and fighting overdevelopment.
