Statement to voters

My name is Pauline Peachey.

Full statement

I was born in 1946; mother of 3, grandmother to 8. I have been a bookkeeper and a carer for the disabled.

As MP for Hull I would actively work with the Don’t Screen Us Out campaign which calls on the government to halt the implementation of DNA screening and to introduce reforms which would support those with Down’s syndrome and their families. Latest figures tell us that 90% of babies who are prenatally diagnosed with Downs syndrome are aborted. I am in favour of reforms which would provide real support for the families and reversing the negative impact on the Down syndrome community. My work with disabled people has given me a respect for those who society might be tempted to consider worthless, unwanted, inconvenient - a target for death by abortion. All human babies in the womb should have the protection that every other human enjoys, instead of this barbaric, brutal practice of dismembering or poisoning without even the mercy of pain relief that is current practice. They deserve better.

I have personally known the devastation that the death of a baby from abortion brings, the dehumanising of a baby who became a ‘foetus’ when the doctor realised it might be disabled or for any other reason be a ‘problem’.

For more than a decade I have worked with women whose babies, like mine, were aborted; helping them to recover. I have founded Post Abortion Support for Everyone and the Recovery Course. I have an unique grasp of the problems women (and men) face in the years and decades following abortion, and the way to resolve those problems. I have listened to so many accounts, and almost without exception I have been asked “What choice did I have apart from abortion?”

WASPI compensation

With my bookkeeping background I am sympathetic to and would support their aims. I would uphold the ombudsman's recommendation for an apology and a payout. I would also advocate reparations for those who accepted the advice of doctors and abortionists who failed in their ‘informed consent’ duty. Mothers who were lied to and had information with-held concerning the development of their baby. I would advocate reparations for the many mothers who were never able to conceive again because their internal organs were damaged, those who were not offered any choice but abortion . I would bring the profitable abortion industry to book (charging the NHS £500 per medical abortion, £1000 surgical abortion BPAS figures) 250,000 abortions last year, more than £100,000,000 one hundred million pounds! plus tax relief and donations to this ‘charity’, Our tax money paid for death by the NHS instead of being used for life.
