Statement to voters

I am an East Sussex County Councillor and have been a local businessman for three decades.

Full statement

I advocate for local charity fundraising through my business, my tenure as Mayor of Bexhill, and my role as a trustee and member of many charity organizations.

I am currently an East Sussex County Councillor and a former District Councillor.and I have had the privilege of calling Bexhill home for the past 33 years. Since moving to Bexhill with my family, I have been deeply committed to our communitys and its well-being. This passion for local involvement led me to enter politics, proudly representing the Conservative Party, and subsequently serving as Mayor of Bexhill. These roles allowed me to participate in numerous fundraising events, a commitment I continue to uphold. It has been an honor to help raise substantial funds for various causes and support those in need within all our communitys.

My dedication to public service extended to my election to East Sussex County Council, where I have served diligently for several years. However, after careful consideration, I have decided to resign from the Conservative Party. This decision stems from my desire to pursue a more independent political path, one that allows me greater freedom to address the needs and concerns of our residents. A New Path Forward: Independent parliamentery Candidate

With the recent resignation of our MP, I see this as an a perfect opportunity to stand as an Independent candidate for Bexhill and Battle. I believe that an Independent MP can engage more closely with residents without National Party politics interfering. Fostering genuine conversations about local issues through regular surgeries and face-to-face interactions. Electing an Independent MP would mark a significant turning point, offering a fresh perspective and a renewed focus on the needs of our community. As someone who knows this area intimately and has dedicated over a decade to serving as a Councillor, I am ready to represent you in Parliament. My extensive experience has prepared me well for this role, and I am eager to earn your trust and your vote.

Key Issues and My Commitment

- Northeye Immigrant Holding Area:

While acknowledging the ongoing immigration challenges in the UK, I firmly believe that Bexhill is not a suitable location for the proposed holding area. Many residents are distressed by this possibility, and I am committed to opposing it on their behalf. -

GP Waiting Times:

The delays in accessing GP services have reached critical levels. It is unacceptable for individuals with serious health conditions to wait excessively for medical attention. I advocate for a comprehensive overhaul of the system.

- Sewage in Our Seas and Rivers:

Southern Water must be held accountable for the severe damage inflicted on our waterways. The pollution affects tourism, public health, and our natural environment. I am determined to restore our rivers and seas to a state of good health. -

Potholes and Pavements:

The deterioration of our roads has caused significant damage to vehicles, leading to costly repairs. We urgently need increased road funding to address this issue. Additionally, our ageing population relies heavily on disability scooters, and it is imperative that our pavements are maintained to ensure safe and accessible journeys for all residents.

All Constituents deserve a dedicated and independent representative who understands the community's needs and is committed to addressing them. Electing an Independent MP would herald a new era for our constituency, bringing a fresh perspective to our local and national issues. I am ready to serve as your MP and work tirelessly to improve our area. I ask for your support and your vote in this upcoming election.

Thank you for considering my candidacy.
