Adam grew up in Bishopbriggs, where he now lives with his wife and young son.

This is his community – and it’s where he’s raising his family today.

He started out working in theatre and the arts before moving into the charity sector, where he campaigned for people with cystic fibrosis to access life-saving medicines. Adam has also volunteered with organisations supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds and worked with community groups helping young people at risk of becoming involved in the criminal justice system to turn their lives around.

Adam says, “This area is my home. It’s where I grew up, and where I’m raising my family. Too many people here feel really let down - by the state of local roads and pavements, by having to wait months for treatment on the NHS and by how much of a struggle it is to afford energy bills and food in the supermarket.

Many of them have also totally lost faith in anyone involved in politics to make a difference or do the things they promised to do. That’s why I’m working hard to improve things locally and speak to listen to as many people on the doorsteps as possible.”

Adam’s experience in the charity and voluntary sectors has shown him that real change takes hard work and persistence. That’s why he has already knocked on thousands of doors across Strathkelvin & Bearsden – listening to people, hearing what matters most to them, and standing up for the changes they need.

“More than anything, being dad to a wee boy motivates me to get elected and change things for the better. For too long, the country has been going in the wrong direction – we desperately need to turn things around.”
