I live in Laugharne and work as an outdoor learning practitioner. I’m standing in this election because services are crumbling, our rivers are dying, and inequality is deepening, but we’re being offered the same tired old policies we have been for the last decade.

I believe things can be better, but we need politicians who can dare to imagine something different. We need transformational policies for high quality social care, universal free childcare, ending poverty and building sustainable, accessible communities that will put people at the heart of politics. Investment in these areas will not only generate wealth and jobs, they'll also improve our wellbeing.

Investing in care and ending poverty could transform our economy by creating wealth and jobs, and build us a better future. For every £1 invested in social care, £1.75 of benefits are delivered to the wider economy.

How do we do it?

Invest in care by introducing Universal Free Childcare and a National Social Care system which is free at the point of use. End child poverty by increasing child benefit, putting an immediate stop to the harmful two-child benefit cap and increasing carer’s allowance. Build climate positive communities by expanding accessible public transport and introduce a national programme of insulation and green energy retrofitting for homes. Reimagine work by protecting flexible working and the right to work from home, shortening the work week, expanding carers leave and improving sick pay provision.

So what are we waiting for?

This general election, send a message that the old parties can’t ignore. Vote for Nancy Cole, Women’s Equality Party on 4th July.

The only way we can have a better future is to imagine it.
