My book ‘The Living Vote’ is the manifesto of the party. In a sense, as a person, I’m irrelevant here. I cannot possibly win, but that isn’t the intention. The London Marathon attracts thousands who also cannot win, but they can gather support for an idea or a cause which itself is worth the effort. We offer something unique. An opportunity to vote for meaningful electoral and constitutional change and the presentation of these innovative and focussed ideas can be best viewed here as a referendum withing a general election, because votes do change things. Today it’s one constituency, in five years perhaps 50, in 10 maybe 400, and it is then then the pressure will count. Everything you need to know about our proposals is on the website. If we do nothing, we relegate ourselves to the status quo forever, where absolute power just shifts back and forth between two parties whose priorities are not aligned with ours. Just having new bums on seats will change nothing, for it is the narrow focus of absolute power which is the underlying driver of such poor and easily manipulated government and that must change. These ideas are completely new, acorns awaiting rain, but to get change, you have to vote for it.
