Statement to voters

Pembrokeshire has been my home for 15 years having been born and raised in London.

Full statement

Pembrokeshire the people and the place is in my heart in my core. My family background is that of Black Asylum seekers and Black Migrants. It has been in their DNA to serve and sacrifice for this country with combined service of 65 years to date in NHS Nursing, Voluntary Sector elderly care and Dentistry. I have been honoured to serve Pembrokeshire as a secondary school supply teacher for 12 years and latterly as a Student Nurse with Swansea University and Hywel Dda for nearly 3 years. Currently I am a full-time carer for my mother. With my first hand experience in The Public Education, Health and Social care sectors along with my love and compassion for all in constituency it will be an honour to serve Mid and South Pembrokeshire as your MP. It will be a two-way service where we will be giving and receiving from each other through learning and engaging with each other. By pulling together as Independent we will be in a unique position to serve the best interests of our community, free from the shackles of Party Politics but knowing that will have to work in union with them.

If elected I will • fight to end child poverty. Pembrokeshire currently has the second highest absolute child poverty in Wales at 17.2%, with over half of those children coming from working families. • work towards resolving the lack of affordable housing for everyone, it should be an absolute right for everyone to have a home, whether they are families, couples, veterans or single people, no-one should be homeless in 2024. • Eliminate pensioner poverty. • Work with the LHB to improve the services and access to NHS doctors and dentists. Work with the Senedd to improve the investment in our hospitals to increase the resources and working conditions for staff. • work towards creating a better start for our young people with more investment in the dire state of youth mental health, education, sports, recreation and better pathways to career opportunities and work choices. • work with employers to ensure good, fair and dignified working conditions. Be an advocate for Farmers, self-employed and small businesses in the county to help them thrive. End exploitative practises. • Lobby for increased investment in our armed services, from recruitment to resettlement listening and responding to our military leaders. • Work with energy companies to increase investment in renewable energies in our county. • work with PCC to re-build the services that have been dismantled in our communities but are desperately needed, such as, day centres, youth clubs & the meals on wheels service.
