Statement to voters
The recent General Election clearly demonstrated that there is an appetite for change throughout the country.
Full statement
With 3 Green Councillors already in Addlestone (North) I believe that the Green Party is in the best party locally to enact meaningful change after decades of Tory rule in Runnymede. I want to give the people of Addlestone South a better voice regarding the green issues which impact the local area such as traffic congestion, infrastructure for electrical vehicles, sources of power, and the protection of the Green Belt. There is a severe shortage of affordable housing, particular for those who require long term rental properties. There is also a need for greater provision of homes adapted for the elderly or those with additional needs. I would strive to represent their interests. I will fight to preserve the semi-rural nature of the area around Addlestone, to protect against urban sprawl and to protect the much needed agricultural land, while resisting attempts to build on the flood plains such as The Farm on Addlestone Road and Chertsey Meads.
