Statement to voters
Hersham is a wonderful place to call home, and I am proud to have been part of this community since 2005.
Full statement
If elected to represent Hersham on Elmbridge Borough Council, my priority will be to oppose the proposed redevelopment of Hersham shopping centre. All requirements for new and affordable housing must be balanced against the need to preserve our village amenities and green spaces, and must be scaled in line with the capacity of our local services. I will work to protect the natural environment from pollution and littering, and I will encourage council decisions to be made in a rational evidence-based manner. The honour of representing Hersham residents is not one I would take lightly. Together with our existing councillors Paul Hughes and Wendy Gibbs, and our local MP Monica Harding I will champion the interests of our community and work to build a fairer, safer society for all.
