The election here on 21st November is going to be incredibly close, and our decision here in Oakham North East could not be clearer.

A vote for me and your Liberal Democrat team is a vote for a dedicated local group that will fight for better health services, work to prevent further reckless housing developments being built without the necessary infrastructure, help our high street to thrive, and offer you a councillor who is open, accessible, and available all year round.

Alternatively, a vote for the Conservatives is a vote for a return to the same old complacency our town and county faced over the last 20 years. It is also a vote for a party that subjected Rutland to 14 years of harsh budget cuts whilst in government, leaving our healthcare services stretched and forcing many local facilities to close.

I know that residents in our community are not easily taken for granted. In May 2023, we voted overwhelmingly to remove the Conservatives from power in Rutland, finally allowing us to begin clearing up their mess after 20 years in control.

Now, at election time, they reappear and deny any responsibility for the state they left our county in, but we all know the truth.

Our community has its best days ahead. We are making real progress in restoring stability to our county’s finances and working hard to deliver meaningful improvements for everyone who lives here.

Don’t risk letting the Conservatives back in after they let us down for so long.

We deserve so much better and I am determined to deliver a more positive future.
