William Docherty is proud to stand as Reform UK’s candidate in the upcoming Stirling Council Bannockburn by-election on 23rd January 2025.

Born on 5th December 1950 in Bannockburn, William has spent most of his life deeply connected to the Stirling area, living and working among its people.
Educated at Bannockburn Primary and Secondary schools, William began his career as an apprentice baker at Ballantynes Bakery in St. Ninians. He later worked with Stirling Council’s Parks Department before enjoying a long career as an HGV driver. Now semi-retired, William remains an active and dedicated member of the community, determined to bring a strong and pragmatic voice to local government.
William’s campaign is focused on key issues that reflect the priorities of Bannockburn residents, including:
Preserving Bannockburn Battlefield: Protecting this iconic piece of Scotland’s history for generations to come.
Supporting the Restoration of Bannockburn House: Advocating for the revival of this historic landmark to enhance the community’s cultural and social heritage.
Addressing Housing Concerns: Collaborating with residents and the council to tackle challenges posed by the development of 5,000 new homes, ensuring infrastructure and services align with community needs.
Scrapping the Tip Booking System: Simplifying access to waste disposal for all residents.
Restoring Fortnightly Grey Bin Collections: Guaranteeing regular, reliable waste collection services.
Eliminating Garden Waste Charges: Returning to free garden waste collection to reduce household costs.
