Full statement
After nearly 15 years here, and as governor of a local secondary school, Beth knows what issues matter to local families. She is committed to being a strong, local voice for our neighbourhood and community. Beth loves Canterbury and St Stephen’s, but knows that together we can make it even better, delivering improved council services and making our area safer, cleaner and greener. Action on potholes • After 14 years of Tory neglect, local roads are in a terrible state. Beth will change that. Labour is investing £1.6 billion in our roads in 2025 and fixing 7 million extra potholes a year. Beth will fight to make sure St Stephen’s gets its fair share of this new cash St Stephen’s at heart • There’s so much going on in St Stephen’s and it is a strong and vibrant community. Beth will work with neighbours, residents and community groups to make it even stronger, and ensure everyone is included and feels welcome Safe, clean and green • Canterbury has some great playgrounds and open spaces. Beth will stand up for St Stephen’s and work to improve Long Meadow Park. Beth wants our local green spaces to be biodiverse and to be cleaner, safer and more accessible for local people and families
