My name is Richard Hopley and I am standing in the South Molton Division for Reform UK at the forthcoming Devon County Council Elections on 1st May 2025.

I have worked for engineering companies including Lucas CAV and J.Booth & Sons in Bolton Lancashire. During my career I have worked in Transport Logistics and a Director for a company identifying and developing items sourced in India for the Australian and UK markets. For 12 years I lived in Spain and along with my wife Val we lived in the Granada Province Southern Spain where we owned and farmed an Almond Farm and Boarding Kennels. On our return to the UK, we brought back with us our 16 dogs and cat all of whom were dearly loved and went on to live long and happy lives with us. We bought an old Farmhouse in West Wales that required renovating and set up a successful cafe from scratch which went on to win several national awards. We no longer own the cafe but it is still as popular today as ever. My wife and I then moved to Devon where we have since renovated a 15th century grade 2 listed thatched cottage in a rural village near Witheridge. We have also taken on a further four rescue dogs two of which come from Romania. New to politics I have become so frustrated with the established parties making such a pigs ear of how our country is run, the appalling direction they are taking us in and the danger they are putting all British citizens in especially our Women and Children. As a Reform UK candidate it is important to listen to, and hear, the concerns
and aspirations of the local communities and ensure their voices are heard and importantly, acted upon. The priority of all those in elected office should be to improve the environment and wellbeing of our constituents"
