Dear Residents of Bromsgrove West.

Full statement

Worcestershire County Council – Vote Nik Price Reform UK, May 1st, 2025

For far too long, our community has suffered from wasteful practices, poor decision-making, and, at times, corruption.

The evidence is everywhere: Housing and Land allocation, Speeding & Safety, Social Care.

Both locally and nationally, the Conservatives, Labour, and Liberal Democrats have failed to meet our expectations.

I have lived in Bromsgrove all my life, and I am raising a young family in Bromsgrove West. I have regularly engaged with members of this community, and we all face several pressing issues:

• Housing and Land Allocation
We must responsibly allocate land to meet the housing needs of Bromsgrove while minimising disruption for
residents and protecting the heritage of Bromsgrove.
The current process of Housing and Land allocation needs to be reviewed and rectified.
Evidence of the previous failures is everywhere and is more apparent as of late:
o Prolonged road closures (Months) Whitford Road, PerryFields Road,
o Diversons put in place that are not fit for purpose – which are exacerbating our Traffic Congestion issues.
o Temporary traffic lights at Peak rush hour times.
o Power Interruptions & Sewage Issues.
o Excessive Consumption of the Green Belt Leading to the M5 Motorway.
o Developers are not keeping the roads clean from the wagons (Mud), potentially making them dangerous.

We need to hold the developers more accountable, as the disruption caused by the developments as of late isnot acceptable and is really impacting the quality of living for all residents.

When it comes to Housing and Land allocation, my policies are the following:
o What can Bromsgrove get in return?
o Securing investment from developers to support our local community & infrastructure. The developers need to invest in Bromsgrove and the community in return for being granted permission to build.
o Implement restrictions on the developers on road closures; road closures should be a last resort, and the developers should be working at pace to minimise any disruption. Closing roads for Months is unacceptable for the people of Bromsgrove.
o Implement restrictions on Temporary traffic lights. They must not be in play during rush hour times. The roads must be fully open and unimpeded during rush hour peaks.
o Implement Road diversions that are fit for the purpose, unlike the Perryfields road, Broad street diversion. If non-suitable diversions cannot be found, then the road closure will not be allowed to happen until a non-disruptive traffic management plan can be agreed upon.
o Keep the natural beauty we have in Bromsgrove, working with the developers to ensure that the land is being managed and ensuring that there are open spaces for recreation & wildlife. To create an area that is aesthetically pleasing on the eye.

• Speeding & Safety
The safety of our residents is at risk due to excessive speeding and antisocial driving at night. This is most evident on Kidderminster Road.
When it comes to speeding & Safety, my policies are the following:
o Our residents' Safety comes first!
o Bring in traffic calming Measures on Kidderminster road.
▪ Reduce the speed limit to 20 mph on the approach to Sanders Park, starting from the
Whitford Road & Perry fields intersection.
o Bring in Public space protection orders. To prohibit excessive speeding, dangerous driving, loud
music & noise from modified exhausts.

• Social Care
Within Bromsgrove, there are many concerns regarding social care:
o Safeguarding
o Rising living costs
o Access to services
When it comes to Social Care, my policies are the following:
o Act as a voice for residents, addressing issues and concerns regarding social care. Provide advice
and signposting to relevant services.
o Advocate for the needs of families facing challenges within the social care system, ensuring their
voices are heard.
o Supporting local voluntary & community organisations.
o Work to secure funding & Investment to support community projects.

On May 1st, voters in Bromsgrove West will have the chance to elect new county councillors who will make critical decisions for our community over the next four years.

If elected, I will be a relentless advocate for our residents. I will hold weekly Councillor Surgeries to ensure your voices are heard. My commitment is to prioritise local people in every decision and to fully support the residents of Bromsgrove.

I will bring a fresh and powerful voice to everyone in Bromsgrove West and Bromsgrove as a whole.

Please support me and support a much-needed new approach to local decision-making.

It’s time to restore honesty, transparency, and common sense to politics at every level. Together, we can stand up and make a difference.

Together, we can create a Bromsgrove we can all be proud of!
