Statement to voters

Greg has lived in Ashford for 22 years and is committed to making the area a better place for everyone to live.

Full statement

Greg works as a volunteer and can regularly be seen climbing a ladder to decorate Church Road with flags for Armed Forces Day or Pride Month, and has also recently helped install the defibrillator at the end of Brownrigg Road. Greg is the lead organiser for the Christmas Market, a well-loved event which is highly valued by Ashford residents.

Greg is the owner of a successful business based in the ward, and is often to be seen around Ashford and is a regular at the Kings Fairway. Greg is on the working party for the town’s re-development and as active member of the Ashford Residents Association.

Greg's main priorities are:
1. Dealing with the Council’s excessive debt. Greg has extensive financial experience and wants to work with others in addressing the consequences of the Conservatives' incompetence.

2. Crime and antisocial behaviour. Greg is passionate about making Ashford the best place to live and will work to focus Police and council efforts to deal with local anti-social behaviour.

3. Fighting to clean up the river Ash. We all need to value our local environment and the river Ash is an important area that Greg wants to improve.

A personal statement from Greg:
Back in the spring of 2003 my wife and I decided to make Ashford our home, to settle down, raise our family and found our business right here in Ashford Town - back then our council was debt free.

Driven by a passion to always give back to the community I live in, in 2018 I was pleased to be invited to join Ashford Wide and within a few months was asked to step up and become its treasurer.

I have led on the organising of the Christmas market for nearly half a decade and supported fellow volunteers on the car show. Most recently I was so proud to have been able to be a key part of the team who put up flags in our town, most recently for the 80th commemoration of VE Day. It is so important we always remember those who served our country to give us the freedoms we enjoy today.

My involvement with local charities over many years eventually prompted me to stand for public office, where I hope I shall have the opportunity to contribute even more to my local community.

I have worked as a financial adviser and planner for over 20 years and it grieves me to see the mess the Conservatives have left the finances of our council in. Ashford Town needs a both strong local champion and a financially competent councillor to fix the mess the current Liberal Democrat led administration inherited from the Tories.

Only the Liberal Democrats can beat the discredited Conservatives in Ashford Town - a vote for anyone else could let them sneak back in. If you decide to place your trust in me I will do my very best to represent all my neighbours.

With Kind Regards

Greg Neall

Liberal Democrat Candidate for Ashford Town

Only the Liberal Democrats can beat the Conservatives – a vote for anyone else will let them sneak back in.
