Jim Howard's policies
Statement to voters
Politics is changing.
Full statement
Trust in the old parties has evaporated. But we don’t need blame and division. Instead, I'm standing as a Green, but working together with other like minded people and organisations to offer a genuine alternative approach.
My background is in sustainability. I dedicated my career to helping big organisations become more environmentally responsible, eventually leading on multi-million pound energy efficiency and renewable projects. Following my recent early retirement, I’ve focused on issues I’m passionate about and I’m keen to use my skills and experience to contribute towards building a sustainable society in Longbenton and Benton. I’m especially proud of the North East’s industrial past — and excited about our future: leading the way in green industry, defending democracy and representation, and supporting working-class young people to thrive.
I’m delighted to be standing at this pivitol moment in politics to represent the great area of Longbenton and Benton.
