Statement to voters

I'm Chris Crompton and I'm so proud to have been given the opportunity to stand as the Labour candidate in Prestatyn Central.

Full statement

This town is my home and the pride I have in our community is behind my decision to stand to be your Councillor. As a family man, I'm passionate about providing local opportunities for people of all ages. I will be a strong, local voice for Prestatyn Central on the council and will always champion the needs of its residents.

Working together as a community, we can build a Prestatyn we're all proud of!

l am a retired drayman and was an active trade union representative throughout my working life. I learned how to listen to people at their most vulnerable and help people through their most stressful times. I will carry this experience with me if I am privileged enough to be elected as your Councillor.

I understand the day to day issues affecting people in Prestatyn. My wife and I are actively involved in our community through different groups. I have the time and energy to make a difference in Prestatyn Central.

**I'll work in partnership with our MP and council to deliver for local people, rather than wasting time on political point scoring.**

**Signed and Delivered / Arwyddwyd a danfonwyd**

I know that local wins go a long way. Working alongside Becky Gittins MP and Denbighshire County Council, I will continue to deliver on our promises to Prestatyn.

**Flood defence scheme** - Denbighshire County Council has delivered new flood defences for Prestatyn, protecting nearly 2300 homes and 86 businesses from coastal flooding.

**The Morfas** - The hard work of our MP Becky Gittins has secured extra funding for The Morfas woodland and playing field. This will uplift the area and improve the pedestrian and cycle routes.

**Keeping our community safe** - Working closely with North Wales Police, Denbighshire County Council has delivered a new police station on Nant Hall Road to combat anti-social behaviour and protect our community.

**Affordable Housing** - Using money from Welsh Government, our council has built new houses on Caradoc Road and turned the old library site on Nant Hall Road into flats for Prestatyn residents.

I know there is still so much more to do, I will not back down from tough decisions. My promise is to serve you as a compassionate and effective Councillor.
