Statement to voters

Hello

An independent Scotland where women's rights are protected and there is integrity in politics as power is placed back in the hands of the people of Scotland through direct democracy.

Full statement

That is what the Independence for Scotland party has been campaigning for since it was founded in May 2020

I have been a teacher for most of my working life, with short spells in tourism and banking. I have also cared about politics all of my adult life and since seeing the rightwing trend in UK politics I have campaigned for Scotland's independence.

The people of Scotland, like the people of any country, have the right to determine their own future and increasingly that choice is to be an independent country.

Achieving independence is not enough in itself, but it's the essential tool to allow us to use all our resources to build a better country, one that is democratic and where everyone can have the basic essentials of life. We can free people from poverty, allowing us to stand proudly in the world as a force for peace and dialogue.
If elected, I will listen to constituents and vote according to their interests, not blindly following a party whip. My loyalty will be to the people of Glasgow and Scotland. That is real democracy
