Statement to voters

A nurse by profession, I was born in Bulgaria and lived and worked there until 2002 when I moved to the UK in search of a better life for me and my son.

Full statement

I came here initially on a two-year work permit visa which eventually got extended.

I felt this country like my home from the moment I set foot here and although in the beginning I knew only a few words of English, I had a great desire to learn the language, integrate into British society and become one of the locals.
I quickly started learning English - initially from my colleagues and house mates - and after I had found my feet, I also started attending an English Language course in the local Adult Education Centre.
For the first few years here, I worked in a nursing home as a healthcare assistant.
The people I met here when I first arrived were very welcoming and supportive and I have been very lucky to form life-long friendships with some of them.
Also, largely thanks to the support I received from my new friends, I was able to get my Bulgarian nursing qualifications approved in the UK and start working as a nurse here.
Eventually, I gained British citizenship, allowing me to proudly call myself British.

This country has also given many opportunities to my son who went to school here, completed a degree in IT and now has a career that he loves.

Having been a nurse all my life, I am used to caring for people, being compassionate and empathic to the core. Kindness is my nature.
For the past 20 years, I have been working in GP land where I have acquired a diverse set of skills and extensive knowledge. At the same time I am well aware of all the shortcomings in the healthcare sector.
Lack of appointments and waiting times are the biggest problems of the day!
Nurses pay have a lot to be desired.
On the bright side - we get professional medical care for free in this country !

I lived in Kent for over 20 years and I never thought I would get involved in politics but always have been interested in the world around me. In the last few years I could see how overgrown population and poor decision in politics have changed landscape, behaviour and economy in this country.

I feel Reform UK is the party that listens to people and acts in their best interest. That is why earlier this year I put myself forward as a candidate and was trilled to join my fellow Reform UK candidates at the local by-election at Harrietsham, Lenham and North Downs Ward. Together we can make a change ! We are supported by the UK’s most rapidly growing party that already has control of KCC. I believe this can help us really make a difference to life in this Ward.

The hottest problem in the area Heathlands Garden Settlement will need to be solved in the near future. If I am elected I will make it top priority to meet with the Save Our Heathland initiative to assist their cause and if not stop the development , at least work to alleviate the principal concerns such as due diligence, healthcare facilities, traffic management, carbon footprint, sewage, the railway stationand provision of infrastructure. It is not a done deal and I will put all my energy into solving every single concern about it.

Another massive concern for local residents is clearly the lack of capacity at the Doctor’s Surgeries as the Ward has grown. Although this is not something over which a District Councillor has direct control, as such I promise if I get elected to be ‘ part of the solution ‘ and anything I can do to raise the profile of the issue will be my top priority . This is a national problem which is certainly high on the agenda of Reform UK.

My pledges to the residents of Harrietsham, Lenham and North Downs are:
. I will challenge the Heathlands Garden Development and any future developments in this area
. I will lobby MBC and KCC to improve local infrastructure such as roads
. I will fight for improve local access to healthcare
. I will help fighting to reduce the effectiveness and impact of different types of scams especially to more vulnerable people by informing and educating them ( traders online, over the phone and at the door)
. We need more people with knowledge on application and methods of CPR ( cardio pulmonary resuscitation )
. I will fight for zero tolerance and for antisocial behaviour and crime
. I will always be available and listen to the people that elected me

We can make Kent great again if we work together !
Vote for Reform UK candidates - 3 of us - on 2nd of October !
