Statement to voters
Candidate Statement Tracey Warman I live in Dumfries and Galloway with my partner and can think of nowhere I would rather be than in this corner of the world we call home.
Full statement
I volunteer in our local community shop once a week, which is hugely satisfying and is a
great way of getting to know the locals as well as visitors to our area. It is really the hub of
local life . This year I was also elected to serve on the Community Council and am very
much looking forward to see what avenues this may take me down.
I worked in finance for 33 years, and took early retirement in 2019. I now spend my time
as a relief dairy worker, concentrating mainly on calf rearing at farms across the area. I en-
joy going to the agricultural shows throughout the summer.
I also run an Airbnb house share. We have been very lucky to have met some lovely peo-
ple from across the world by doing this.
I enjoy swimming in the sea and in 2023 was one of the founding members of a women’s
swimming group. We meet regularly for swims throughout the year. Our group has been a
great way of forging friendships through a shared joy of being in the water. I have also al-
ways enjoyed long distance running and have completed marathons and half marathons
across the UK, Europe and Africa
I have voted Liberal since the age of 18 and have been a member of the Liberal Democ-
rats since 2011and joined the Scottish Liberal Democrats in 2017.
My aim is to give a voice to the local communities in West Dumfriesshire and Galloway.
As a resident of Galloway, I feel I have gained a good understanding of the community in
which I live and now I want to listen to your views, concerns and needs - to learn what is
important to you and to bring your views to the attention of those that can get your voice
heard. The Liberal Democrats, in their various guises and long history have been instru-
mental in empowering local communities through a community approach, which is so of-
ten ignored by the other parties.
As a Liberal Democrat, I believe in the liberal qualities of fairness and equality
