I am delighted to be selected as Labour's candidate for the Greenlands byelection on the 18th December.

I moved to Blackpool because it’s full of life and heart. I won’t join those who talk it down. I’ll be shouting about everything that makes it great but standing up for Greenlands residents every step of the way.

I also won’t be patronised on what pride in our town or country should look like. I grew up on military bases and lost my dad, an RAF officer, in service when I was 12. We also lost family friends who were killed by terrorists. I know what service means, and I’m ready to step up and serve our community.

After losing Dad, my mum raised me and my little sister while working hard to make ends meet. We knew what it was like to struggle and that’s why supporting working families drives me every single day. My jobs have always been about one thing: helping people. That’s exactly why I’m standing in this election.

I’m a Tangerine-supporting, Blackpool-loving girl who spends her free time volunteering at the local church and playing hockey with a local team. I want to make a difference. This campaign is about hope. It’s about giving people the chance to build an even better Blackpool with us - not the politics of division, fear and empty promises.
