Statement to voters

As a long-time resident of Alexandra Park, this community means the world to me, and my family.

Full statement

My genuine connection to our local area means a first hand experience/understanding of local issues, and a vested interest to ensure resident-informed solutions and bold actions on local issues such as; traffic, fly tipping in certain corners, theft and anti-social behaviour, housing disrepair which affects our neighbours in council properties, ensuring that no tenant lives in damp and mould infested property, making our pavements safer especially for our elderly, installing lightening in our parks to make them safer for all residents especially women and young people during the dark winter months, continue our investment in local playgrounds for young families, securing step free access for Alexandra Palace Station for all but especially parents like me with pushchairs and our disabled neighbours, continue the protection of vital community assets such as our Alexandra Park library, ensuring that the library remains open and expanding activities and restoring full opening hours, protecting of our green spaces including green corridors like Pinkham Way.
It is also vital to maintain and improve the quality of services that are already being delivered well, such as our bin collections.

Employment and skills support for our young people, especially those not in education or employment (NEETS), as well as struggling families still facing difficulties due to the devastating impacts of Covid Pandemic and the austerity imposed by the Conservatives/Liberal Democrats coalition government.

At work in a London Local Authority, I stand up to developers and their contractors. As London changes and high rises shoot up, it’s vital that developers give back to the communities they profit from. This could be in the form of employment and skills and support for local services et cetera.

I’d be honoured to represent you, to ensure that those of us who live in this wonderful community are properly consulted to shape decisions that affects us and our community. I’ll be available not just during elections, and I’ll listen and ensure that the council responds to our community’s issues.

Together, let’s build a safer, cleaner and fairer Alexandra Park!
