Matt is 25 years old and has lived in Spelthorne all his life.

His formative years were spent in attendance at Thamesmead Secondary School and 1st Charlton Air & Sea scouts, where he fostered a deep love for the local area and all it has to offer - particularly our wonderful riverside! He is keen to bring a fresh perspective to the council and represent the younger voices in our vibrant community.

Harbouring a deep love for animals & wildlife, Matt has found fulfilment in volunteering for various animal welfare organisations such as the RSPCA, Battersea Dogs & Cats home, and other wildlife organisations that control invasive species, helping our native biodiversity to thrive. Alongside this, Matt believes in the power of a strong sense of community and spends time cleaning up the borough with our brilliant Spelthorne Litter Pickers.

Currently working as a Transport Planner, Matt has a unique skillset that lends itself to ensuring the successful delivery of critical council services. This includes fostering proactive relationships with council officers to achieve tangible results, reviewing policy documents (including local plans) to ensure proposals are practical and effective, and understanding how strategic planning impacts communities at a local level.

Matt is described as someone who is eager to get things done, with an acute attention for detail and a distaste for wasteful behaviour. He is keen to work with residents of Laleham & Shepperton to enhance the area and advocate for better youth services, protection of our green spaces, sufficient transport infrastructure, and proper maintenance of our roads and public spaces.
