Alastair has been a Green Party Town Councillor in Haslemere since May 2023.

He has lived in Haslemere since 2013 with his family. He works self-employed in the environment sector, as locally as he can. He has volunteered with many groups, with a focus on promoting active travel. That is getting around Haslemere by walking, wheeling, scooting which is a crucial step in building better, more attractive, thriving, happy community centres.
His experience at the Town Council means he understands how councils work and who is responsible for what. This has also given insight into what hasn't been done and the enormous opportunity for change that exists.
Alastair sees the mess as an oppotunity, there is a space for real hope and vision of a positive future. The town is full of people with great ideas, we need people to help make them happen and Alastair wants to be that person.
