Statement to voters

I am a lifelong resident of Great Yarmouth, educated locally, including at the former Boys’ Great Yarmouth Grammar School.

Full statement

My professional career began with a small shipping company on the River Yare and progressed to senior leadership roles across major international energy hubs, including Houston, Dubai, and Aberdeen. Over several decades, I have held senior management and Managing Director positions within energy, waste, logistics, and fuel supply chain businesses, supporting both publicly listed and private equity–backed organisations.

I have led large, high-performing teams with more than 1,000 employees and overseen annual revenues exceeding many hundreds of millions of pounds, consistently delivering results above budget through disciplined leadership, operational excellence, and strong commercial focus.

In addition to my executive responsibilities, I served as Chairman of the Great Yarmouth Port Users Association and achieved a Master’s degree in business from the University of East Anglia. Throughout my career, I have remained committed to team performance, transparency, and long-term value creation.

I have not previously been involved in politics. However, my experience in business leadership, combined with my deep roots in the community, has shaped a firm belief that practical, common-sense decision-making and effective collaboration are essential to delivering real change — and to putting the “Great” back into Great Yarmouth.

I believe that Rupert Lowe is a politician who will do this - he does what he says he will do. That is why I am backing him and standing as a candidate for Great Yarmouth First at this very exciting time of political change.
