Garry McClay's policies

Statement to voters

My name is Garry Campbell McClay, and I’m from Kilmarnock, Scotland.

Full statement

I’ve spent my working life in the skilled trades and small business sector and currently work as a self-employed tradesman. Through my work I’ve seen first-hand the challenges faced by working people, families, and small businesses across Scotland
.
Outside of work I’ve always enjoyed being active in sport and community life, taking part in football, boxing, golf, wrestling, and the Highland Games to name a few. I’m also a father, which is one of the main reasons I care deeply about the future of our country and the opportunities the next generation will have.

My priorities are to recognise Scotland’s popular sovereignty so the people in the communities have a real voice in shaping the future of an independent Scotland. I want to protect Scotland’s identity and culture, strengthen our economy and infrastructure, and tackle the serious issues affecting healthcare, education, and the justice system. I also believe in supporting the farming and energy sector so Scotland can become more self-sufficient and reduce everyday costs without being dependent on other countries.

I’m now standing for Alliance to Liberate Scotland in the Kilmarnock and Irvine Valley constituency on May 7th 2026 to be a voice for local people and help bring the change our constituency needs to lead by example.

The party allows me to stay self funded and have my independent views with no political party whip apart from that we all unite for Scottish independence - nothing else, nothing less. This is why I decided to join ATLS as we can't make the changes we need without having full control of our own country 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
