Statement to voters
I’m not a career politician.
Full statement
I’m a law student who grew up in foster care, and I’m standing for Glasgow Anniesland because the issues here are personal to me.
At six, I was taken into care due to my parents’ drug dependency. My dad and brother still battle addiction today. So when people talk about Scotland’s drug deaths crisis, I’m not just hearing policy – I’m living it, like thousands of families across Scotland. In recent years, Scotland has had the highest rate of drug-related deaths in Europe.
I know what it’s like to feel invisible to those meant to represent you. I’ve experienced poverty, instability, and a system that too often fails children. That is why I’m standing – because people here deserve someone who understands their lives.
I’m studying law and want to use that knowledge, alongside my experience, to tackle addiction and bring real investment into communities.
After years of the same SNP representation, I believe it is time for something different.
