About David
I live in St James Ward, my son goes to school here.
Full statement
My family are from Waltham Forest and my mum was a nurse at Whipps Cross. I work in the NHS as an art psychotherapist for CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services).
As a Unite rep I’ve doubled union membership in my workplace and been elected to the London and Eastern Regional Industrial Committee for Health.
I’ve been organising in this community for years, inside and outside of party politics. I’m standing as a councillor because it’s clear that only Labour or Green can win here, and this ward deserves better than what Labour has delivered.
What David stands for
St James is full of people already doing the work to make this a great place to live. What we need is a council that backs them rather than bypasses them.
I want to open up how decisions get made here, through genuine planning transparency, citizen assemblies and community-led development. On housing, that means exploring new methods of ownership for homes that are actually affordable.
For nature, that means council services that protect the green spaces we all enjoy. I’ve spent my career helping communities build from the ground up, and I’m ready to bring that to the council chamber.
