I moved to Great Yarmouth 12 years ago, jumping straight into college and then working across a range of industries, meeting so many wonderful people in the area all the time. Over the years, I’ve seen so many changes to the area, how strong the local community is and where improvements need to be made.

We’ve been let down by those who think they know better than the voices of us all.

I’ve spent many years volunteering in my local and wider community, seeing first-hand the impact misguided decisions have caused. Letting local services shrink while our community grows, not providing the right care when we need it and making it more difficult for us to come together.

Politics used to bore me, it was always well-off people in suits, complaining about things that don’t really matter and never doing anything about it. I felt powerless to change anything, unable to stop fighting but never reaching the end.

Like so many others, I’ve had enough.

Enough of the lies, corruption and millionaire “VIPs”. Everything the major parties prioritise over helping real people with actual issues. It’s time now for us normal people to stand up and make real change happen from the ground up.

That’s what The Green Party is to me - normal people coming together, making real change happen and turning actions into real hope.
