Through those conversations on the doorstep I have developed a strong understanding of the challenges facing our communities and the issues that matter most to local people.

Council Tax has risen by 30% on Ynys Môn since 2022. We have seen annual increases well above the rate of inflation. This isn’t acceptable. I am determined to work across political groups to find ways of reducing the Council Tax burden on hard working families.

We cannot tax our way to prosperity. We need a Council that backs local businesses, protects residents pockets and focuses on growing our economy, not introducing new taxes and increasing the ones we already have. Elected members must be accountable for their decisions, and that’s exactly what you will get with me.

I look forward to meeting as many as possible of you over the coming weeks and listening to your concerns, as well as setting out my positive vision for the area.
