I grew tired of the empty promises from politicians who talk a good game but deliver little on the ground long before I retired from policing in 2025. After retiring, I was approached by Reform UK to help the Washington & Gateshead South branch push for real, practical change right here in our communities.
On the doorsteps across Washington residents keep raising the same concerns: roads that aren't maintained properly or safe enough, anti-social behaviour that makes our neighbourhoods and villages feel neglected, and a lack of visible policing that actually prevents trouble before it starts. I’ve seen first-hand from my time in the force how prevention and proper community presence make all the difference, and I’m determined to make sure those voices are heard loud and clear.
I focus on:
• Better maintained and safer roads with proper enforcement
• Proper crackdowns on anti-social behaviour (ASB) so families can feel secure again
• Support for more effective community policing with stronger prevention measures to improve neighbourhood safety
