Statement to voters

I am asking for your support to serve our entire community as an independent councillor, free to speak up for you.

Full statement

My commitment is that Oakley and our villages will always come first.
I believe communities know their own needs best. What they often lack isn’t ideas. It’s genuine support, access to the right people, and someone to connect them and make things happen. I believe in politics that delivers: practical, local, and focused on what actually helps. Independence isn’t about going it alone. It’s about putting local people first.
That’s why being an independent matters. I believe our communities deserve a strong local voice – someone who puts people before politics. That’s why it’s so important to have someone from our community speaking up for us.

My focus for Oakley

Speak up and support plans for the green spaces between Oakley and any planned development, protecting our village’s character and separation.

I will continue to work with the Parish Council on improving our open spaces and play areas.

Press for practical improvements to road safety, tackling excesssive speed on our local roads. Including safer crossings and better junction layouts.

Work to ensure Oakley residents and the Parish Council are involved early in decisions that affect the village.

Push for infrastructure, investment in doctors and schools, to be secured early and delivered alongside development.

Encourage shared facilities in new developments to be publicly or community managed for the benefit of the wider village. I don’t support management companies.

My local experience

Parish Councillor, Oakley and Deane Parish Council – former Chair, now focused on hands-on community impact.

Founder, Our Oakley – creating a shared place for community information and events in Oakley.

Trustee & Committee Member, Oakley Community Association – helping run village events and support community work.

Area Coordinator, Oakley Neighbourhood Watch – supporting coordinators and residents to keep our communities safe and connected.

Member, Oakley Wellbeing Forum – working to bring people together and strengthen local wellbeing initiatives.

Hands-on problem-solving – practical work with residents on things like road safety, planning, drainage, and protecting green spaces with strategic gaps – gathering evidence, raising issues with the right people, and seeing it through.
