The reason I am standing is to make this happen. The experience I have as a young person is one of communities that look out for one another in spite of politicians who do not. I have spent many hours volunteering for my local communities and have seen first hand how local organisations and councillors can make a difference to people’s lives.
If elected in Withington I will push for changes to how the authority can support an ecosystem of local organisations and empower individuals, showing them that they have an influence in how their local area evolves. Whilst I grew up in a rural town, the problems I saw there are not unique. I see people full of potential left behind due to a system that constantly fails them, that is why I chose to study and live in Withington, a community that I know can thrive.
