A Local Champion
For years, Claire Brenner has spoken up for vulnerable families and children, particularly those affected by the national SEND crisis, challenging decisions where systems have fallen short and pushing for the support families are entitled to.

Claire has worked across the political spectrum putting people before politics and focusing on what actually delivers change. This isn’t about party lines — it’s about doing what is right. She regularly appears on local news and BBC radio as a spokesperson for SEND families.

Alongside this, Claire supports families directly — helping them navigate complex services, attending meetings, and ensuring their voices are heard when they might otherwise be overlooked.

Claire became a SEND campaigner because she had to leave her career in cancer research to care for her disabled son after he was failed by his school. She vowed to do all she could to ensure no other family would go through what hers did.

Keeping London Road Open
Claire Brenner first championed the idea for an underpass back in 2023, and launched a campaign that resulted in the underpass proposal being included in the official consultation. Calum Miller MP spoke of Claire’s campaign in the House of Commons.

Claire is delighted that all sides, including East West Rail now support plans for a shallow underpass for cars, cyclists, and pedestrians. She will continue working with anyone, regardless of party, to ensure it is delivered.

Claire believes this is exactly what local politics needs more of — genuine cross-party collaboration focused on delivering what residents actually need and deserve.
