I'm standing as the Green Party candidate in the Shalford ward of West Surrey because I believe that effective local politics can transform the civic and natural environments we all rely on for a good life.

I'm sixty-six and married with twin daughters. I have been based in Hurtmore for twenty five years. My working life has involved careers in teaching, journalism and international relations, running large teams and commercial operations. I am now retired and a trustee of the Guildford Book Festival, committed to enriching the cultural life of our community.

My professional experience focused on developing and delivering good strategies and making the right choices to win. As your representative in local government I will ensure the Council makes the right choices for you delivering the high quality services you and your community demand and deserve.

What I will fight for

If elected I will:

• Deliver low cost affordable housing in the right places
• Secure a fair deal for carers
• Ensure high quality education for every child whatever their ability in well run and well resourced schools
• Make affordable and reliable public transport a reality that gets you where you want to go
• Protect and restore our natural environment
