Hello, my name is Alex and I am standing as a Green Party candidate because I believe they are the best option to represent our local areas here in Guildford and Waverley.

Full statement

I have been based around Guildford for the past nine years. I came from a career as a Navy aircraft engineer and now work in HR. I love the beautiful scenery and all of the stunning walks here. I also enjoy playing board games and running Dungeons and Dragons games in my free time, including for a non-profit.

The Green Party have a long history of fighting to preserve our beautiful natural spaces but we also have a strong sense of moral justice.

What I will work towards

If elected I will:

• Hold water companies and sewage works to account. The River Wey has seen sewage dumps nearly one hundred times. That cannot go on and we need to monitor it closely
• Fight to protect our local assets from being sold into private ownership as a result of the huge debt we will inherit from the recent regional restructure
• Ensure we continue to invest in our community and our infrastructure
• Push for more regular and reliable bus services so everyone can get around without a car
