Too many opportunities for our communities and the people in them have been squandered by short-term thinking. I want to start making decisions that think bigger and longer term and build resilience to the challenges we're all facing together. That's why I'm standing for the Green Party.

Roads and potholes

On the doorstep, the state of our roads comes up time and again. Potholes are a real problem in our area and I believe that's largely down to expensive third-party contractors using poor quality materials. If elected I will:

• Bring roadworks teams in-house
• Make sure potholes are repaired to a proper standard

Our natural environment

The state of our natural environment is something I feel strongly about. Native species are in decline, our ecosystems are being polluted and biodiversity is falling. This matters to me and I know it matters to many of you too. If elected I will:

• Promote habitat restoration
• Create specific nature corridors
• Make sure we have the right people in place to manage our green spaces properly
