Statement to voters

I am proud to announce that I have been selected as the Reform UK candidate for Garforth and Swillington, including Great and Little Preston and Skelton Lakes.

Full statement

I was born and raised in Leeds and am proud to call Garforth my home. Like many of you, I’ve had enough of paying more and getting less from our council. So much so that I have stood up and said enough is enough. For the first time ever I am standing as a candidate.

Council tax keeps rising — but what do we see in return? Roads riddled with potholes, community facilities closing, and high streets in decline. Meanwhile, our city is drowning in debt, paying an astonishing £1.8 million in interest every single week. Just imagine what that money could do for Swillington, or Great and Little Preston.

This Labour-run council has lost its way. It has prioritised the wrong things — spending hundreds of thousands on translation services, while pushing through large-scale developments that risk turning our area into a building site for the next 10–15 years. All of this, with no matching investment in schools, GP services, or infrastructure. Residents are being ignored. That must change.

I bring over 30 years of experience as a Project Manager, solving complex problems and managing budgets under pressure. I’ve worked in the NHS on projects with national and international impact, and in local government, where I’ve seen first-hand how waste and poor decisions hold communities back.

I don’t deal in excuses — I deliver results. My approach is simple: cut waste, challenge bad decisions, and focus on what actually matters to residents.

That means fixing our roads, protecting vital services, supporting our farmers and local businesses, tackling anti-social behaviour, and restoring pride in our communities. We need better visibility.

I will be your strong voice — standing up for residents, demanding accountability, and fighting for the investment and respect our area deserves.

Reform UK is already making an impact across the country. Now it’s time to bring that change to Garforth and Swillington.

If you want things to stay the same, you have that choice.
But if you want real change — Reform UK is ready.
