Statement to voters

As a former business owner, with many years’ experience in the technology and services industry, I decided to stand as councillor because of something my lovely wife said to me.

Full statement

We were discussing the current states of politics, which gives me great cause for concern. Especially for what kind of life is ahead for our grandchildren. She said, “Don’t just moan about it, do something about it.” So I decided to do just that.

How many times do you hear the news lead with one disastrous political decision after another? Out of control illegal immigration, national security scandals, a welfare state that is so out of control it actually pays people not to work – decisions all made by people in key positions lacking experience and making ill-advised judgements, while all the time our streets are becoming more and more unsafe, and our economy is on the brink of collapse.

I’m standing for councillor to ‘do something about it.’ To use my business skills to put the people of Rawdon and Guiseley first in order to preserve our local area. I know what it takes to deliver results from many years’ experience running a business and I’m here to make sure that change is delivered. I’m here to fix what’s broken, to get results for residents of ALL cultures in my constituency. Whether that’s making our area a safer place to live, fighting the housing of illegal immigrants, sorting out pot holes or bin collections - I’m here to help make sure those changes happen.
