I’m proud to announce that I’m standing in the County Council elections.

I’ve decided to stand because I’ve seen the Conservatives run our county into the ground by failing to prioritise local investment while focusing on their failed "One Suffolk" plan. They’ve failed to tackle potholes and keep our roads safe, with deaths and serious injuries now at a 10-year high. At the same time, more traffic and heavy lorries are being pushed through our communities, with little investment to protect residents.

They’ve also failed on public transport showing no real ambition to build a reliable bus network, missing out on major funding opportunities, and cutting support for rural routes that people depend on.

There is also a growing threat from Reform, who want to cut vital public services in rural areas and dismiss the urgency of climate action, putting the countryside we cherish in Constable Country at risk.

Here in Babergh, the Green Party has shown a better way. As the largest group on the District Council, Greens have protected and restored nature through the Biodiversity Action Plan, and supported neighbourhood plans so communities can shape development in their area.

I’m standing because I believe we need a council that puts our villages first. Safer streets, better transport, and real action to protect our beautiful countryside in Constable Country.
