Cathy grew up in Hayes and Ealing.

She left London for work in the 1970s and returned to the borough after she retired. A keen environmentalist, Cathy was dismayed by the rubbish spoiling our open spaces. Since 2020 she has led the Litter Action Group for Ealing Residents (LAGER Can), which donates labour equivalent to that of ten full-time employees per year. Cathy believes littering and flytipping could be significantly reduced if facilities were available that made it as cheap and easy as possible for residents to dispose of their waste responsibly.
Volunteering all over the borough has heightened Cathy’s understanding of other major issues that negatively affect residents, including the development of property for investment rather than homes, lack of policing and increased antisocial behaviour, loss of amentities, and transport policies. Cathy is keen to work hard to ensure that residents’ concerns are heard and their needs are addressed.
