I will be standing as the Labour candidate for the Downham division of Norfolk County Council on the 7th May.

This is an election for a soon to be abolished council, but important decisions will be made about the future of local government for decades. After three years of representing the place I live at Borough, I am ready to help shape that future, ensuring great services are in place for residents.

Terry Jermy MP and the Labour Government has been delivering for Downham, as we saw with the confirmation of the SEND school at the Ryston End site. We need Norfolk County Council fully focused on delivering the best possible services for residents.

The Tories lost Downham Old Town to me in 2023.
The Tories lost SW Norfolk to Labour in 2024.
The Tories will likely be losing County in 2026.

The Reform Party offer the Tories' failed policies repackaged with a lot more divisive rhetoric that I do not think Norfolk will benefit from. Focusing on who we are against should not be our priority, but instead working together to build a better Norfolk and a fairer society.

Too many live in hardship or poverty, every visit to a shop stressful, and events half a world away will continue to impact on our cost of living. We and our area's precious wildlife are also threatened by the rapidly changing climate, and we must consider and adapt to swiftly evolving technologies.

Yet there is a lot to hope for in Downham Market, with our thriving high street, independent businesses, and many successful charities and organisations tackling some of those issues directly.

Together, we achieve more than we do alone, and that is why I am standing for election on the 7th May.
